The armistice of Mudros, signed by the Ottoman Empire and Allies, ironically brought about optimism deep sadness among Ottomans. Soldiers civilians wished that Armistice would have heralded a peaceful period for had experienced warfare since Balkan Wars. However, soldiers to choose whether return civilian life or resist Allies’ occupation. Many veterans looked forward restarting their civil lives, even though some high-ranking officers ways save homes from invasion. latter thought Allies were disrespectful articles in Mudros violated them. Thus, commanders postponed demobilization army preparation post-war resistance. self-narrated documents soldiers’, especially ones belonging low-ranking soldiers, proved reluctance new war due physical psychological exhaustion. After all, many desired continue lives as if nothing happened Empire.
